What's Your Spiritual Posture Heading into 2022?

What's your spiritual posture heading into a New Year? Scripture reminds us constantly of our royalty. All we must do is walk in it! That walk requires a certain attitude.

"Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord."

1 Corinthians 15:58

Attitude#One

Feet forward:

It’s all about moving life forward. 'I will persist until I succeed'. For that to happen, you must think forward. Think forward. Move forward. One thing for sure, if your feet aren’t moving, your life isn’t moving. Feet forward is movement – even in the face of resistance. It shows purpose, determination and a spirit of ‘don’t quit’. It means that you cancel your subscription to your pity party and get up and move!

Attitude#Two

Shoulders squared:

It’s all about confidence. It’s all about knowing who you are and whose you are. When you are intimately acquainted with this knowledge, your shoulders are squared. Shoulders squared denote an attitude of ‘even when I’m losing I’m winning’! It’s how you show up to the game that determines the likelihood of whether you’ll win the game. It is a feeling that you’ve come to meet whatever and whomever you are facing with determination.

Attitude#Three

Back straight:

Show me a person defeated by life and I will show you someone with a bent back. Some person, so burden, some relationship has rode the back of that individual for so long that it’s bent. Keep your back straight whether times are good or bad, whether people like you or not, whether the ball is bouncing your way or not. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said No man can ride your back unless it’s bent.”

Attitude#Four

Chin Up:

When I was a lad playing football, the coach would always say, “Take it on the chin!” Little did the coach know he was equipping me for life with an invaluable principle. It doesn’t mean you take getting pummeled over and over without purpose, but rather you dip into your deep reservoir of strength and determination to make a difference in your life.

When your chin is down, your confidence, your will and your vision is down. Chin up means you need no convincing of your destiny – in fact, you’ve already arrived!

Attitude#Five

Breathe:

It’s amazing that the power of breath is so little understood and appreciated. We aren’t living if we aren’t breathing. We are also living beneath our power when we do not consciously breathe in intervals throughout the day. Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth consciously reduces blood pressure, controls stress and releases a fountain of energy on a daily basis. Taking deep breaths throughout your day has amazing results.

As we move forward into the New Year by faith, live with your feet forward, shoulders squared, back straight, chin up and breathe and you are already a winner!
