Our 2026 Ministry Theme is Moving Forward by God's Grace: Declaring, Dismantling, Discipling as We Build God's Kingdom on Earth.

Our ministry theme is reflective of three unique aspects of the ministry of Jesus Christ. Christ declared the coming of God's kingdom on earth; Christ dismantled human structures arrayed against the disinherited; Christ discipled the heart, his disciples and continues to disciple the church.

Jesus' Declaration Was Unequivocal

To declare is to acknowledge possession of; to make known or to reveal. In Luke 4:18, Jesus Christ announced his ministry and its attendant parameters:

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent to me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, and to set the captives free."

Jesus Dismantled Corrupt Systems

John's gospel describes Jesus driving merchants and money changers out of the Jerusalem Temple in an act of prophetic judgment, replicating the tearing down of oppressive human systems. As a result, Christ recalibrates the message of God's kingdom and points it back toward the pinnacle of redemption:

"You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment." (Matthew 22:37)

Jesus Discipled the Church

Christ commanded his followers to make disciples, to show others how to become the shining light of God's mercy throughout the world (Matthew 28:19,20).

But first, Christ discipled (and continues to disciple) the heart, for the heart is the seat of human action. Jesus also discipled his followers. Lastly, Christ discipled (and continues to disciple) the church.

The declaration, dismantling and discipling work of Christ is the foundation for ministry. In His redemptive labor is contained the hope of human salvation, the dreams of humankind, and the realization of God's kingdom on earth.

Through His commission, we can turn pain into purpose, chaos into community and rejection into rejoicing.
