African Americans are the most religiously devout of ethnic groups in America. Yet there are signs that this is beginning to shift. The Pew Research Center recently released statistics which show "over more than a decade, the share of Black Americans who say that they have no religious affiliation has risen more dramatically than whites, Hispanics, or Asians." Black “nones” are growing.
What's behind this increase of African Americans who do not self-identify as "religious". What does it mean for our community? What does it mean for our faith?
